Common Sense Gun Legislation
Universal background checks: We must close the gun show loophole and require background checks for all firearm purchases, including private sales and transfers.
Red flag laws: We need to enforce our Red Flag laws with more fidelity.
Assault weapons ban: We should join 9 other states and work to ban the sale and possession of military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, which have been used in numerous mass shootings.
Gun safety training: We should require comprehensive safety training and licensing for all firearm owners. We should also have laws around gun storage both in home and in cars.
We must also work to address the underlying issues that contribute to gun violence, such as poverty, mental health, and domestic violence. I am committed to finding common-sense solutions that will protect our families and our communities. Let's work together to promote gun control measures that will make Virginia a safer place to live, work, and raise a family.
